A Bradford IT company has defeated competition from the likes of PC World and global retailers Amazon to be named as Best Online Retailer 2007.

CCL Computers, based in Tong, Bradford, won the coveted PC Pro award for best online retailer after being voted ahead of 30 companies.

The company was voted the winner by readers online votes.

CCL's managing director Adrian Wood, said: "What makes this award really special is that we realise that our customers are thrilled with our service enough to vote for us.

"Winning the award is excellent, but it is knowing what the award really means that is important and nothing pleases us more than pleasing our customers.

"We would like to thank everyone who has shopped with us and indeed voted for us over the past year and we want nothing more than to keep you all satisfied for another year."

A PC Pro spokesman called the company the Paula Radcliffe of online retailers' adding: "CCL enjoys leading from the front, taking this crown for the second year running. And it's quick on its feet, too, topping the charts for delivery."

Bosses at the Bradford company were presented with the accolade at the annual PC Pro Awards, held in London's Science Museum last night.

CCL has been doing business for more than 11 years.

Since its inception it has sustained year on year growth in turnover and now employs more than 80 people.

The firm boasts a customer base spanning the whole of the UK and works with a diverse range of organisations, from schools to Bradford's own National Media Museum.

Its four main areas of business are education, corporate, computer resales and private individuals.

The firm's website attracts more than 300,000 unique visitors per month and much of its business comes via mail order and online.

In 2004 it was listed amongst the 50 fastest growing online companies in the north of the country.
