A railway engineer will be donning his swimming trunks, shorts and running shoes to raise cash for disadvantaged children.
Paul Ryder, from Skipton, will be undertaking a gruelling triathlon including swimming 1500m, cycling 40km and running 10km tomorrow.
The 38-year-old long-standing member of Skipton LMS football club will be taking on the challenge at the Rendezvous hotel leisure club.
Paul will be donating half the funds he raises through sponsorship to the children's ward of Airedale Hospital, Steeton, and the other half to The Ghyll's playground appeal.
The Ghyll is a respite centre in Skipton for autistic and disabled children and is the chosen charity of leisure club manager, Christopher Rushton.
Mr Rushton said: "Paul's been training really hard here for this event and we're delighted that he is going to donate half the funds to the Ghyll."
Anyone wishing to make a donation or sponsor the event can call Mr Rushton at the Rendezvous leisure club on 01756 797477.
