Neil Smith was a two-goal hero as Ventnor Youth cashed in from switching venues by winning the only Telegraph & Argus League game to beat the weekend weather.
Youth should have been at home to Sporting Athletic but a change to their opponents' Apperley Bridge ground paid off with a 3-1 success.
Smith took advantage of an early defensive mistake by rock-bottom Sporting to score the only goal of the first half.
He repeated the dose at the start of the second period and although Athletic pulled one back, they were caught out with a quick throw in the 70th minute as Kono Singh put the result beyond doubt.
Youth's third win of the season enabled them to move away from the lower reaches of the table.
