The funeral of Zahier Kazmi, who lost his battle against cancer yesterday, takes place at 5pm today at Anjuman e Haidaryu Mosque, 78, Southfield Square, off Lumb Lane, Bradford.

Zahier, of Canterbury Avenue, died at home yesterday evening.

The 27-year-old had been battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a rare type of cancer that affects the lymph nodes.

Despite being seriously ill Zahier launched a campaign with The Anthony Nolan Trust to persuade more people from Bradford to join the bone marrow register.

The life-saving appeal saw thousands of people come forward to sign up giving greater hope to everyone who is desperately search for a donor.
