The phone lines are open for people to vote for funding for a new bridge over the busy Manchester Road, Bradford.

The scheme is part of a bid to the Big Lottery Fund by sustainable transport charity Sustrans, which is up against three others trying to the win the jackpot in the television contest - the People's £50 Million Lottery Giveaway.

The Connect2 programme by Sustrans will see new accessible routes being created in 79 communities, including the one in Bradford.

Pupils at Newby Primary School, which is right next to the proposed Manchester Road bridge are calling on people to vote and help them get the bridge of their dreams.

Online voting is still possible at www.thepeoples50million. org.uk and votes can also be made by calling 0870 24 24 602.

All voting ends at noon on Monday with the winner being announced two days later.
