Firefighters today staged a dramatic rescue after a horse got its leg trapped in a gate in freezing weather conditions.
The grey mare was discovered lying in deep mud at a farm in Allerton Lane, Allerton, Bradford.
Her front leg was stuck in a metal gate and she was suffering from cold and shock.
A crew from Shipley fire station was called out at 11am and used an electric saw to cut through the bars and release the animal. With the help of a vet, she was able to stand and be led back to the farm.
