Bradford North Neighbourhood Policing Team has announced the appointment of a new inspector by the name of Tuff.

Peter Tuff, 46, will be based at Eccleshill Police Station and he will have direct responsibility for Eccleshill, Ravenscliffe, Thorpe Edge, Thackley, Idle, Swain House, Bolton, Undercliffe, Fagley, Bradford Moor, Thornbury, Wrose and Apperley Bridge.

His role will involve helping build trust, a rapport and a belief in police effectiveness through partnership working.

He aims to increase public confidence and customer satisfaction and wants his team to be accessible, responsive and visible in the neighbourhood.

Insp Tuff began 18 years ago as a constable in the Bradford North Division.

He did two years as the beat officer for Thorpe Edge estate. In 1994 he was promoted to sergeant working from Lawcroft House in Bradford and he then transferred to Leeds in 1997. In 2002 he received a further promotion to inspector based at Keighley and worked on patrol and Operational Planning.

Insp Tuff said: "I see this as an exciting challenge - to respond to the needs of my local communities. Through effective partnership working, I want to reduce not only crime and anti-social behaviour but also the fear of these issues."
