Tomorrow night's big fight has left me with a real dilemma.

Who should I root for when that first bell sounds in the early hours?

What a result it would be for British boxing if Ricky Hatton could overpower the flashy American they call the best on the planet.

But, then again, a Hitman win would be the final nail in the coffin for the showdown I've always wanted to see against our own Junior Witter.

There is no way that will ever happen if Hatton pulls it off against Floyd Mayweather.

He would become untouchable and able to cherry-pick the biggest money-spinning fights without taking the huge risks that would be involved with trying to unravel the awkward style that Bradford's WBC light-welter world champion brings to the table.

That's why Oscar De La Hoya, a boxing great but clearly now on the wane, has been sounded out - the first time I can remember a fight promoter being picked as the winner's next opponent.

Watching the build-up through the week has been fascinating; from Pretty Boy's posturing to Hatton's banter as well as the obligatory head-to-head stand-off turning into a shoving match at the final press conference.

But a part of me still bristles whenever Hatton talks about being the world's best at his weight division. If that's the case, what about proving it against that fella on his doorstep; you know, the one with the 140lb green belt Tomorrow night is unmissable. It will be an historic "I was there at 4am watching it" occasion.

But as I say, I don't know which corner to be in.
