KIRKLEES Council has issued clarification about a fine issued to a hair salon over breaches of Covid-19 rules.
Quinn Blakey Hairdressing, on Bradford Road, Oakenshaw, has been at the centre of a wrangle after failing to close for business despite the current restrictions.
The restrictions have been in force since November 5 in a bid to drive infection rates down.
In an update yesterday, Kirklees Council said: "The business was open and trading again so they have been issued with a further £10,000 fine which means the total is now £27,000.
"We are now in the process of exploring alternative action."
However, a spokesperson today clarified: "After speaking again with West Yorkshire Police, they have confirmed that they did not see customers present during their visit to the premises on November 24, so we will no longer be issuing the additional £10,000, meaning the total remains at £17,000."
