Residents were celebrating yesterday in their campaign to get the Leeds-Liverpool Canal towpath cleaned up.
Ten dog litter waste bins have been installed thanks to £10,000 from British Waterways.
Bradford Council and British Waterways joined forces earlier this year after Riddlesden residents called for action against dog owners who did not clean up after their dogs.
And the Riddlesden and Morton Urban Village Partnership commissioned Bradford Council's Dog Warden Service to carry out patrols along the canal stretch.
Terry Singh, City Hall's dog/animal services manager, said dog owners were advised of their legal responsibilities and two fixed penalty notices had been issued to persistent offenders in the area.
