Public transport users have expressed "bitter disappointment" that Bradford has missed out on funding for Boxing Day bus services.
Metro, the operating arm of the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Authority, has announced plans to fund services on more than 25 routes in the Huddersfield and Leeds areas - but not in Bradford.
Bus passenger John Mawdesley, of Hillcroft, Thornton, said: "The question everyone is asking is why not Bradford?' "We are the second largest city in West Yorkshire after Leeds and it seems that we are missing out yet again. It's bitterly disappointing."
Councillor Stanley King, vice-chairman of Metro, said: "We looked at Boxing Day services and Leeds and Huddersfield were the only places where the chambers and the shops said they were hoping to get large numbers of shoppers."
Metro chairman Councillor Ryk Downes said services in the West Midlands had proved successful so Metro decided to carry out trials to see if there was a demand locally.
