The inquests into the death of two men who were killed following an industrial accident at the same firm in Bingley has been opened and adjourned.
Lee Horton, 58, from Ilkley, and Daron Pickstock, 43, from Chorley, Lancashire, both died after an incident at Unit 8, Castlefield Industrial Estate, at the end of last month.
Mr Horton was a managing director for an engineering company, and his colleague Mr Pickstock, was a steel erector.
The inquest held at Bradford Coroner’s Court today heard how the pair were understood to be “working together at the time of the accident that led to their respective deaths”.
Mr Pickstock died at the scene, shortly before 4pm on October 29. He was identified by a colleague.
Mr Horton died the following day at 3pm in Leeds General Infirmary. He was identified by his partner Karen Gahan.
Unit 8 at the industrial estate is the home of Space Productiv, a firm which specialises in the design and manufacture of industrial racking and mezzanine floors.
Mr Horton is listed on the company’s website as its managing director.
Assistant coroner Angela Brocklehurst adjourned both inquests. She added that police and health and safety executive investigations would continue and that she expected the full inquests to be concluded by the end of May.
At the time of the incident a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "A man was arrested in connection with the incident and later released under investigation.
"Investigations with the Health and Safety Executive continue into the circumstances of the incident."
