Hill Top Primary School in Park House Road, Bradford, has been named as the top-performing school in the district in this summer's KS2 exams.

Remarkably, 100 per cent of pupils achieved the target Level Four in English, maths and science.

The results, the school's best-ever, also placed the inner-city primary among the top five per cent of schools nationwide.

Delighted head teacher Des Martin, above, with some of his pupils, said: "We at Hill Top are all very proud of our KS2 results which are a true reflection of the time, work and effort our staff and governors put into the education of our children to ensure they get the best possible start. The results are also testament to the parents and carers of our children, because without their support and the relationships they have with our school, our children would not achieve and attain in the way they do."

Mr Martin said the school had also seen record numbers of pupils attain or better Level Five this summer.

He added: "Along with our recent Ofsted inspection that deemed us a good school with outstanding features, these results are clear indicators of the high quality of teaching and learning that takes place here at Hill Top."
