Three fire engines were called to Bradford's Kirkgate Centre today after an electrical fault started a blaze in the lift room.
Crews from Bradford and Fairweather Green attended Perfect Homes, on the ground floor of the city centre shopping complex, at 1.40pm after smoke from the lift shaft drifted into the shop.
A fire service spokesman said overheated electrical equipment in the lift room was isolated and made safe.
The fire was out on arrival and the crews ventilated the area to clear the smoke.
