POLICE uncovered some of the "biggest plants they had ever seen" during a raid on a cannabis farm.
Officers carried out a warrant at an address, assisting the electricity board, in the Heckmondwike area yesterday, when they uncovered the cannabis farm.
Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "Once inside officers locates a sophisticated cannabis farm with some of the biggest plants they had ever seen."
The farm featured a system of high powered lighting as well as insulation and ventilation to help the plants grow, but this illegal endeavour has been brought to an end.
Cannabis, a Class B drug, carries a prison sentence of up to 14 years for its production and supply, as well as an unlimited fine.
Police urged the public to report any illegal and criminal activity they see to them by visiting the live chat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website, calling them on 101, or contacting independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
