ELECTRO-POP godfather Gary Numan first met his wife when she was a 12-year-old superfan. She even wrote to Jim'll Fix It to ask if he could arrange their wedding.
The couple, who have been reflecting on their relationship in interviews promoting Gary’s autobiography, have been married for 23 years, have three children and live in domestic bliss in a mock medieval castle in LA.
It got me wondering what would’ve happened had I gone on to marry Sting, the rock star I loved aged 12. I used to dream of us being newlyweds in a Barratt home, because that seemed the height of sophistication.
If I had married Sting, I wouldn’t have minded the Tuscany mansion and millionaire lifestyle, but I think the lute playing might have got on my nerves after a while...
