AS if serving great coffee and amazing cakes wasn’t enough, Tiffin Coffee Grande has another great trick up its sleeve to tempt in customers - one of the best street views in Bradford!

The vast expanse of glass that makes up the double frontage of our Bradford BID Trader of the Week – on the corner of Charles Street and Market Street, in The Broadway shopping centre – provides the perfect vantage point to take in the glory that is the magnificent Wool Exchange building and its historic Hustlergate backdrop.

There can be few better places to enjoy one of the most iconic views of our city’s stunning Victorian architecture – especially with a cracking cup of coffee in hand.

Big windows mean high ceilings, which make Tiffin Coffee Grande a light and airy place to enjoy breakfast, a light lunch or sumptuous afternoon tea, all in comfortable, lush, modern surroundings.

The owners spent almost £100,000 on refurbishing the premises, which became vacant following the closure of the national Patisserie Valerie chain early last year.

The Bradford-owned-and-run business behind Tiffin Coffee Grande had already established a reputation for providing an excellent coffee shop experience with its sister premises, Tiffin Coffee, in Bank Street.

Head of Hospitality Doug Stewart says: “We wanted to offer people the same quality they’d become used to at Tiffin Coffee but in a new setting that offered them a different experience, a more open space in a more modern building.

“We think the two units complement each other and we often find customers like to switch between the two, to get the best of both worlds!”

A big focus of Tiffin Grande is the array of gorgeous cakes and pastries.

“We really paid extra attention to our cake and desert selection, picking some of the most fabulous and eye-catching products that we felt would work with our brand and would be well received by our customers,” says Doug.

“Cakes, cheesecakes, muffins, tarts, scones, cronuts, cruffins - our list of desserts is endless! We add new cakes on a weekly basis, and we also have a range of gluten free and vegan friendly desserts.

“And we are always open to new ideas; we encourage people to let us know if there’s something that they would like to see on our menu.”

For more savoury treats, the coffee shop offer a wide range of sandwiches – also catering for an array of dietary needs – and all are made fresh every day in the store, powered by what has become one of the UK’s largest independent sandwich retailers, Tiffin Sandwiches.

“We are very proud of our Bradford roots, and the fact our businesses are based in Bradford and staffed by Bradford people,” says Doug.

And then, of course, there is the coffee.

“Our team is expertly trained to deliver outstanding customer service along with the tastiest hot and cold drinks out there,” says Doug.

“We use the highest quality coffee, machines and ingredients to ensure that your order is exactly how you’d like it to be, and we also have a loyalty card scheme so customers can earn themselves a free drink by collecting a stamp every time they visit!”

It’s very clear when you enter Tiffin Coffee Grande that the safety of customers is paramount; there are prominent signs about Covid-19 regulations everywhere which, combined with the airiness of the space, make eating and drinking there feel like a very safe experience.

Doug says: “We have taken extra precautions to make sure we are providing a clean and safe environment for everyone, from full table service to regular thorough cleaning, from mask wearing for all staff and social distancing to sanitising stations and a takeaway collection point.

“Local businesses need local support to survive in these difficult times and we’ve done all we can to protect our customers. It’s the least we can do if we want people to keep on coming.

Like so many businesses here, we’re all about backing Bradford, the city centre and local jobs and we hope people will respond by backing us.”
