The road over Ilkley Moor from Ilkley to Keighley has been repaired using money raised from the sale of the Bradford Council-owned Silver Well Cottage.
Countryside services came under fire earlier this year because of the state of Keighley Gate Road.
Officials said that off-road vehicles had been using it and churning up the surface. Over the past two weeks officers have been flattening and resurfacing the road using spoil recovered from resurfacing work on the A65 at the Manor Park bends.
The road, which is used by walkers and bikers, should be repaired by the end of the week when drains have been installed.
