Over 350 readers have responded to the T&A's story about the new owners of Asda - with the vast majority praising the 'amazing story' of the billionaire brothers who led the £6.8 billion takeover deal.
As we reported on Friday, brothers Mohsin and Zuber Issa have strong Bradford links, as their family first came to the UK to settle in the West Yorkshire city.
Their parents, Vali and Zubeda, arrived in Britain in the 1970s to work in the textile industry, moving from Gujarat, India, to Bradford.
Bradford's textile industry attracted parents of Asda's new owners to UK
They later ran their own petrol station, where the brothers worked as teenagers, before selling it after deciding there was little profit to be made.
Mohsin and Zuber - who were raised on the other side of the Pennines in Blackburn - made their fortunes after successfully transforming their business from one rented petrol station into a network of almost 6,000 forecourts across 10 countries.
Readers of the T&A have given an overwhelmingly positive response to the brothers' success story.
Some described them as a 'hope and inspiration' to entrepreneurs, while others said the story was evidence of what can be achieved through hard work.
