IN ever changing, scary times, it’s a comfort to have TV’s Great British Bake Off back in our living-rooms.
The new series is underway and already we’ve taken the lovely bakers to our hearts because, for the first time, they are separated from their families, cocooned in a Bake Off Bubble.
Last week’s opening show served up a pineapple upside-down drama and a Battenberg disaster. Newbie Matt Lucas settled in so perfectly it was like he'd always been there.
My only gripe is all the clips they showed as teasers - giving away far too much of the series to come. You don't have to pay too much attention to work out who is still going to be in the tent in weeks to come.
Just leave the show to rise gently...like the perfect Victoria sponge.
