A BRADFORD man has been jailed for almost seven years for sexual activity with a child.
Damien Kovac, 21, of Little Horton, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual activity with a child under 16 to reflect around ten times when he abused the teenager.
Jailing him for six years and nine months at Bradford Crown Court, Judge Richard Mansell QC said Kovac had shown a lot of self-pity but little or no remorse for his actions.
His barrister, Jayne Beckett, told the court that Kovac, who worked as a production operative, was a Slovakian national who understood very little English.
He had lost his family and his stability as a result of his offending.
“You robbed this innocent teenage girl of her youth and her virginity,” Judge Mansell said.
She would bear the scars of the abuse while he had shown little insight or remorse.
Kovac must sign on the sex offender register for life and the judge made a Sexual Harm Prevention Order without limit of time.
