CANTERBURY Nursery School in Bradford has retained the schools inspectors’ highest rating of Outstanding following its most recent Ofsted inspection in March 2020.
Inspectors say "children at Canterbury Nursery School get off to an exceptional start at this outstanding school because they are well supported by caring staff, who have high expectations of the children".
The report describes the "calm and productive feel to the school where children follow routines carefully and are helped to become independent and confident".
It says parents have nothing but praise for the school and they feel that their children are supported incredibly well. One parent is quoted as saying: "They go above and beyond for every individual child and family."
Inspectors described Canterbury Nursery School as "an inclusion centre of excellence" and add: "The support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is a strength of the school. These children are included in all aspects of school life."
Headteacher Jackie Bracewell said: “I am delighted and extremely proud of this report, which recognises the hard work and dedication of everybody. It is a real pleasure to work in this fabulous community and to continue to provide an outstanding education for our children.”
Chair of governors Naveed Mushtaque said: “The entire Governing Body are really proud of this report and will continue to support the school to ensure that it remains a warm and welcoming place for everyone, where pupils have lots of opportunities to learn about the world around them.”
The school said that inspectors recognised the benefits of being part of Exceed Academies Trust via a Service Level agreement especially its close link with Horton Park Primary School.
Executive headteacher Duncan Jacques said: “This is a brilliant and well deserved outcome. Canterbury Nursery School has been an outstanding school for many years and we are delighted that Ofsted agreed again. I would like to thank everyone involved for their dedication and effort.”
