A PLAN to increase the size of the houses within a proposed new development have been approved by Bradford Council.
Last year an application to build six houses off Wellington Road, Wilsden, was approved by a planning panel despite numerous objections - once of which came from Wilsden Parish Council.
The Council said the houses went against the Neighbourhood Plan for the area - these houses would all be four bed, and the plan called for a greater mix of housing in the village.
Earlier this year applicant David Smallwood submitted an amended plan for the site - the houses would now be bigger, each now built with a "sun room.
The parish council once again objected, but now the amended scheme has been approved by Bradford Council.
Neighbourhood plan has ‘little weight’ to alter Wilsden housing scheme
Officers said: "The dwellings proposed in this application are of a larger footprint. The house plots remain the same meaning that the houses occupy a large proportion of the plot and subsequently the gardens are of a smaller size.
"In design terms the proposed dwellings are not significantly different to those previously approved in terms of architectural character and building materials.
"The main addition to the houses proposed now is the single storey 'sun room' the rear to each of the dwellings.
"In design terms the proposed development is acceptable and would not be a significant departure from that previously approved."
