THE PUBLIC have left heartfelt messages of support for a popular café after it announced it is closed "indefinitely" in this "uncertain time".
Chester's Café, in Harrogate Road, near Ravenscliffe, announced the news on its Facebook page this afternoon.
The post outlined that the café, which has only been open for the past 18 months, was closed "indefinitely" with immediate effect.
It said: "My heart is breaking writing this.
"As we wait at home for our second little boy to join us, taking immediate effect, Café Chester’s is closed indefinitely.
"I was scrolling through our pictures to find one of the café front, and the ones of Chester growing up there has brought me to tears.
"I don’t need to tell you the heart and work we’ve put into this place over the last 18 months and it has been an absolute pleasure to serve you and make genuine friends.
"From our family to yours, we wish you an abundance of good health during this uncertain time.
Thank you."
The news was met with shock and sadness.
Many posted to say they were "gutted" for the family, with one person saying they "couldn't believe" what they were reading.
