TripAdvisor ranks Bradford's most popular tourist attractions

According to TripAdvisor, here are the top 16 tourist traps.

Alhambra Theatre

The 1,400-seater venue is home to the city's annual panto and an impressive selection of shows straight from the West End.

The iconic site has received 1,286 reviews, with a 70 per cent excellent rating, for four and a half stars.

One review included: "The Alhambra is a beautiful theatre, a brilliant combination of old and new design."

Bradford Industrial Museum

The Moorside Road site features gems from local industry, especially printing and textile machinery, kept in working condition for regular demonstrations to the public.

It has received 402 reviews, with 232 of them ranking it as excellent for an overall four and a half star rating.

Max P wrote: "Fascinating place, well worth a visit. Will definitely be going back again. We visited as a couple but will take grandchildren next time as I am sure they will love it too."

Glyn W posted: "This is a, at present, free, well planned and well focused set of collections. Wool and wool machinery; Bradford built cars and bikes; printing; working horse history; workers and middle class house interiors; a tram, trolleybus and a sewage powered steam engine; plus changing exhibitions."

National Science and Media Museum

The city centre site has notched up 1,486 reviews, 60 per cent of them excellent for a 4.5 star rating.

Campergirl4 from Southampton wrote: "This is a great museum. Lots to see and do. Played old video games and had a good reminisce about the children’s TV programmes. Spent at least 5 hours there."

Garethxox, of Scarborough, posted: "Bradford doesn't have much for tourist or families for that matter but the one place you can rely on is the media museum, its worth a visit if your in the area, specially if its raining and you want to pass a couple of hours. And it's free."

Sunbridge Wells

Fancy a drink and something to eat deep underground in Bradford? Sunbridge Wells is your answer.

The venue has notched up 165 reviews, 59 per cent of them excellent for a 4.5 star rating.

Meryl83 from Skipton: "A mixture of bars and restaurants can be found in this tunnel like venue, spread over a few different floors, definitely worth a look to see if anything takes your fancy!"

Mark C wrote: "This amazing atmospheric place was a real find. We tried fabulous gins at great prices and others ate fresh pizza from nearby woodburning pizza restaurant, brought to the table! Also sharing charcuteterie boards. Good atmosphere. Intimate and cozy. Worth a trip to Bradford for this alone!"

Saltaire

The world heritage site is a popular site for tourists at all times of the year.

The village has a rich history and is also home to a number of events including the Saltaire Festival every September. Roberts Park is always popular on a sunny day.

Saltaire has received 1,400 reviews for 4.5 star rating, with a 64 per cent excellent rating.

Bolling Hall

The Bolling Hall Road site has received 157 reviews for a 69 per cent rating, for 4.5 stars.

Brian W posted: "This a wonderful Hall to visit. The interior is great with many interesting artefacts including Cromwellian helmets, swords as well as lovely stained glass windows and furniture. Best of all it's FREE ADMISSION. Its so interesting I am going to make another visit in case I missed something. Plenty of car park spaces."

Salts Mill

This prominent Saltaire landmark makes the list itself.

Perfect place to enjoy the art and culture of the village, which houses a number of exhibitions.

It has 1,861 reviews, for 4.5 with a 61 per cent excellent rating.

Wingmann, of Pudsey, posted: "A rainy and cold Sunday afternoon in Bradford and the Mrs asks what shall we do. What do you want to do she said, Surprise me. So I took her to salts mill. We have been before on numerous occasions but it never fails to impress. We made for the top floor and just wandered around. Marvelling at the artworks all the Hockney stuff. Great books, fantastic eateries. We stayed a couple of hours and whiled away a Sunday afternoon. Great place to visit."

Lister Park

This oasis is a great place for a walk, a chill out, or a run - if you take part in the weekly 5k Parkrun there.

It has received 233 reviews, 64 per cent of which were excellent for four and a half stars.

Tong Garden Centre

A surprise entrant you might say, but the Tong Lane site proves to be a hit with shoppers.

It has generated 761 reviews, for four stars, with 42 per cent excellent rating.

George B posted: "A great place to shop. Plenty of different areas. Pavers, I bought a great pair of sheepskin slippers. Recommend a visit plenty of car parking areas."

Cartwright Hall

This beautiful building, set within Lister Park, is a great place for art exhibitions celebrating the district, including a gallery on the work of David Hockney.

It has notched up 162 reviews, 58 per cent of which are excellent for 4.5 stars.

Alan P, of Bristol, posted: "Enjoyed our trip to the art gallery with its range of diverse art works. We also enjoyed a very reasonably priced lunch in the cafe."

Shipley Glen Tramway

The oldest working cable tramway in Great Britain dates from 1895 and is still going strong.

The Prod Lane site has recorded 354 reviews, 62 per cent were excellent for 4.5 stars.

VicBA2014, of Durham, posted: "Lovely little tramway up the hill. The volunteers are great, and the tramway itself a delight. Our toddler couldn’t get enough of it. Well worth the £2.50 return fare."

Bradford Police Museum

The Centenary Square attraction includes cell tour, a court tour and a gallery tour. It focuses mainly on the Bradford City Police Force and aspects of 19th century policing.

It has notched up 85 reviews, 80 per cent of which were excellent, for a 4.5 star rating.

Lesley from Leeds wrote: "We called in as we were passing. Warm welcome, small entrance fee. All the staff are volunteers who worked in the police and that made the tour really interesting."

Bingley Five Rise Locks

Great for a walk along the river and there are pubs nearby for a cheeky pint too.

It is a staircase lock on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal at Bingley. As the name implies, a boat passing through the lock is lifted or lowered in five stages.

It has prompted 570 reviews, for 65 per cent excellent rating.

Broadway Centre

The Broadway has proved a popular addition for Bradford shoppers over the last five years.

Plenty of High Street names including Superdry and HMV have made their home there. The centre has also played host to celebrity-clad Christmas lights switch-ons and a Channel 5 consumer show.

It has generated 169 reviews, 38 per cent were excellent, for four stars.

One review said: "This is a great shopping centre. Most local high street shops with a great Debenhams and an impressive M&S Food Hall.

"The parking is good and the centre is clean and well managed. It has a pleasant shopping atmosphere and is generally busy."

City Park Mirror Pool and Fountain

Film screenings, music concerts, dance performances and festivals - the spectacular City Park has hosted them all and more.

It has notched up 93 reviews on the site, 55 per cent were excellent for a four-star review.

A visitor from Worcester posted: "When we stay I in the Midland hotel we always walk down to see the fountains usually evening when it looks lovely with the lights, this time we went in the afternoon it is still lovely with the very imposing town hall as a back drop. It was busy lots of people and couple of groups playing chess with the giant pieces, always Worth a walk round."

Undercliffe Cemetery

Perhaps an unusual place to be added on to a list of sites to visit on Trip Advisor.

The 26-acre cemetery is a Grade II English Heritage listed site.

It is nationally recognised as a Park and Garden of Special Historic Interest, where guides offer a number of guided tours.

It has generated 63 reviews, 67 per cent of which were excellent, for a 4.5 star rating.

One reviewer posted: "A party of 13 of us had a fascinating guided tour of this amazing place, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and amusing and we all enjoyed the tour immensely."
