Family Events For February Half Term at Bronte Parsonage Museum Friday

The half-term activities at the Haworth site include free talks and walks, hands on history, a craft workshop. Open between 10am and 4pm.

Activities are suitable for all the family and free with admission to the Museum.

Printmaking at Bradford School of Art at Dye House Gallery - Friday and Saturday

This art exhibition looks back at the work that has been produced by the printmaking courses at Bradford School of Art.

The event will run until Friday, April 3 and is open daily between 10am and 4pm. Free entrance.

Hidden Treasures Tour at National Science and Media Museum - Friday

Take a free guided tour of our collection and discover some of the museum’s hidden treasures.

The 20-minute tour includes objects from the history of TV and film.

Recommended for families with children aged seven and over. The day's tours are at 1pm and 1.30pm, meet in the museum foyer.

Early Birds at National Science and Media Museum - Saturday

Early Birds is a free event for families with children who have an autism spectrum condition, an anxiety disorder, or a special educational need that means they would benefit from a quieter, more relaxed museum opening.

The museum will open at 8.30am and will be available exclusively for Early Birds guests until 10am, when we open our doors to the general public.

Entry and activities are free, but booking is required.

A CBBC Games Half-Term at National Science and Media Museum - Friday - Sunday

This February half-term, discover the world of videogames with CBBC.

What does it take to digitise the wild antics of the Operation Ouch! doctors? How do you bring the exciting adventures of The Dumping Ground online?

There’ll be play zones previewing the latest CBBC game releases from Danger Mouse, The Worst Witch and The Next Step.

Sleeping Beauty at Bradford Playhouse - Friday and Saturday

Drama Unlimited's pantomime features the adventures of Princess Aurora, wicked Carabosse and her naughty pussy cat, Spindleshanks.

The nightly performances start at 7.15pm, with a matinee showing on Saturday at 2.15pm.

A taste of New Orleans comes to BD1 between Friday 21st to Tuesday, February 25.

Come and dance to The Cajun Aces, a three-piece band playing traditional Cajun music from the French-speaking rural districts of South West Louisiana.

Alpaca Trekking at Thornwood Alpaca Trekking Animal Event, from Saturday

The visit will include an introduction to the herd, a walk along the footpath through our farm fields, a chance to feed the alpacas and loads of feed and photo stops.

Suitable for anyone over the age of five.

Children between the ages of five and 12 will have a second lead rein and share an alpaca with an adult.

Children over 12 are able to lead their own alpaca. Younger children can also walk Herbert, their therapy and trekking sheep on their own.

‘Bahamas’ Railtour to Carlisle at Keighley and Worth Valley Railway - Saturday

Following the success of the two 2019 KWVR ‘Bahamas’ Railtours, we have decided to launch a third tour.

The train will depart Oxenhope, terminus of the KWVR, at 8.15am, stopping to collect passengers at Haworth and Keighley on the KWVR and Skipton. On leaving Skipton, the train heads to Hellifield and on to Settle Junction where the climb over the famous Settle & Carlisle Railway begins. The Settle & Carlisle Line, boasts the highest railway summit in England at Ais Gill, 1,169 feet above sea level. The trip will include a two-and-a-half hour stay in Carlisle before the return journey which stops in Keighley for a 12-hour trip.
