LATEST NEWS: Third man arrested in relation to Jordan Sinnott death
A 21-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the death of Jordan Sinnott.
The Bradford-born footballer - and son of former Bantam Lee Sinnott - died aged 25 yesterday evening.
Sinnott had been on a life support machine after an alleged assault in Retford town centre, his current club Matlock Town FC and Nottinghamshire Police confirmed.
He died in hospital just before 7pm, surrounded by his family.
Late yesterday evening, Nottinghamshire Police launched a murder investigation, following the development.
A second man has since been arrested today in relation to the investigation, after a 27-year-old was detained yesterday morning.
The second male, a 21-year-old, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The 27-year-old man had already been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm shortly after the incident, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He remains in police custody.
Police are still appealling for anyone who may have witnessed two incidents.
The first happened in the car park of the Dominie Cross pub, in Grove Street, at around 11:25pm on Friday, January 24.
It was reported as a disturbance and involved up to eight men and women.
The second saw police officers called to Retford Market Place by ambulance crews who were attempting to treat Sinnott.
He was unconscious and had a suspected fractured skull.
This was at around 2am on Saturday, January 25.
Anyone who witnessed either incident, or believes they may have captured them on dashcam or mobile phone footage, is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101.

Bec and i have chatted today and both in utter shock but we will always remember that smile and cheeky ness you had about you, and watching you follow your dads footsteps it was clear you were happy and loved by many.
