A FORMER furniture shop could be turned into a micro pub if a new planning application is approved.
The vacant unit - 70 Haworth Road in Cross Roads, between Keighley and Haworth, would become a bar called the Burnt Bear if the proposals go ahead.
Submitted by Kathryn Thornton of Bronte Bars & Events, the application calls for the conversion of the 60 square metre former timber shop to a bar that could also be used for "a space for business meetings, tasting experiences and for hire for community use."
Micropub approved despite concerns it could harm Haworth's reputation
The application adds: "We would want to offer smart leading craft ales, small batch exclusive spirits for retail sale and served drinks which are not necessary sold in supermarkets or the high street.
"We will be aiming to offer a customer service orientated environment offering the customer a friendly relaxed atmosphere & experience."
The bar would open from noon to 9pm on Sunday to Friday and to 10pm on Saturdays.
Two full time and six part time jobs could be created by the plans.
A decision on the application is expected in early March.
