A tweet from Kensington Palace said: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will travel to Bradford on Wednesday 15th January to visit a number of projects which support the community and promote cohesion within it, in one of the UK's most diverse cities #RoyalVisitBradford."
Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, Leader of Bradford Council, said: "I am delighted that the Royal Couple will be visiting the district. We are a young, diverse, vibrant and above all, welcoming place so they can be assured of a warm welcome on the day.”
Councillor Doreen Lee, the Lord Mayor of Bradford, said she was “delighted” at the news.
“It boosts the area and it makes people realise we are not forgotten and they know we are here. We’re highly delighted. We just can’t wait to see them.”
Their visit is made all the more special as the Lord Mayor’s charity for her tenure is Child Bereavement UK, of which Prince William is a Royal Patron.
