Now we all know the true meaning of Christmas (Jesus' birthday), and also what follows a few months later (the resurrection of Christ).
And even though we enjoy the over commercialisation of the traditional Christian holidays (think chocolate and gifts), one supermarket has taken it a step too far, and it's not even January yet.
On Sunday, while shopping in his local Co-op, a shocked shopper (who wished to remain anonymous) spotted a display of...no, not Valentine's Day cards...but Easter Eggs.
He said: "There's Easter eggs out already. And hot cross buns!"
Christmas may now be a mere twinkle in the eye for some, but while many people are still finishing off their selection boxes, the Co-op appears to have started with their preparations for Easter, which is three and a half months away!
Some may be happy to get their mouths round a Mini Egg or five at this time of year, but one Twitter user from Hove was not best pleased after seeing this display in her local Co-op.

Another Twitter user was so annoyed that she called on Boris Johnson to sort out the situation.
So this constant marketing and pressure to move our years along at the rate of knots has to stop! Easter eggs in the shops! Come on @BorisJohnson can you put this on your agenda #livetheday #enjoythemoment #stopthisnonsense pic.twitter.com/gcCWHrfJsl

The Co-op whipped out the Cadbury Creme Eggs and Mini Eggs around the same time last year, prompting social media users to comment on how quickly they'd appeared, with one saying: âBarely processed the Christmas food and there are already Easter eggs on the flippin shelves at Co-op.â
However, the supermarket replied stating that from experience, they knew some customers like to buy them early and thought it was okay to give those people a choice.
At the beginning of December, B&M stores had also been seen scrambling to get the Easter displays onto the shop floors, with many having eggs on shelves as early as December 6.
Easter Sunday isn't until April 12. But if you're extra keen to get your Creme Egg fix, there's no need to wait.
