A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a crash in Brighouse.
Firefighters from Rastrick were called to Lightcliffe Road, at the junction with Garden Road, at around 12.45am, where a Fiat Punto had crashed into a parked Volvo XC60.
A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said the Punto burst into flames and the fire then spread to the other car, destroying both vehicles.
The female driver of the Punto managed to get out of the car before it set on fire.
Firefighters were at the scene for around an hour and worked to make sure the fire did not spread to any nearby properties.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "At 12.45am today (December 27) police were called to a road traffic collision in Lightcliffe Road, Brighouse, where a blue Fiat Punto had been in collision with a parked red Volvo XC60, causing the vehicles to catch fire.
"No-one was injured. The driver of the Punto, a 53-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and is currently in custody."
