THE national spotlight was on Bradford today as a live BBC programme showcased the city.

Christmas Day Mass, on BBC One, was broadcast from St Joseph's Catholic Church, in Pakington Street, Bradford.

The hour-long show started at 10am and finished at 11am on the national channel.

Reverend Christopher Angel led the mass.

Bradford Catholic Youth Choir also featured on the programme, singing a number of hymns throughout.

Last year's Christmas Day Mass on BBC came live from Oldham Parish Church, in Great Manchester.

The BBC's Christmas Religious Programming began this morning with a Midnight Mass, in the Anglican tradition, broadcast live from the historic Croydon Minster.
