MORE than 1,500 homes in Bradford were hit with a Christmas Day power cut this morning.
Northern Power Grid announced at 6:17am that an "unexpected power cut" was affecting 1623 properties in Bingley.
It lasted for around two hours, with the utility company posting on Facebook at 8:12am to tell people in the area that power had been restored.
A Northern Power Grid spokesperson said: "For this type of power cut we normally restore power to 90 per cent of our customers in about 90 minutes."
It was estimated at first that power would be back on in Bingley at 7:45am.
Some customers had their power restored at 7:56am.
The spokesperson said at 8:12am: "Good news, your power should now be back on.
"Why not try a light switch to check?
"Thanks for your patience during the power cut, if you have any other power related questions ask away, we are happy to help."
