WHEN all the fun and games at Christmas time are over, many families struggle to keep the kids entertained.

But fear not, there is plenty to do in and around Bradford, whether it's a rainy day, you want to stay close to home or try something new together.

The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is offering its Mince Pie specials where people can beat the post-Christmas blues and enjoy a Yuletide journey along the Worth valley.

Enter the traditional, warm and welcoming steam hauled coaches from Boxing Day 2019 to New Year’s Day 2020.

The trip includes free mince pies as well as the on-train real ale bar serving, not just real ale, but wines, spirits and hot cups of tea and coffee.

No need to book in advance – just turn up on the day and collect your tickets from any of our stations.

Daredevils will plunge into the cold water at White Wells in Ilkley on New Year's Day.

The water temperature in the 8ft by 6ft stone bath is estimated at just seven degrees centigrade. 

Plunging is on a first come first served basis - open between 10am and 5pm.

Visitors must bring their own swimming costumes and towels.

Why not take the family to the Alhambra Theatre for this year's pantomime, Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs?

It stars panto legend Billy Pearce, pop star and Strictly Come Dancing finalist Faye Tozer and family TV favourite Paul Chuckle.

Bradford Police Museum is holding its Treasures of Nanak exhibition - marking the 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak’s birth - until January 23, 2020.

Take a look at rare Sikh artefacts, arms, armour, manuscripts, paintings and contemporary art.

Located on the site of the original 19th century police station in Bradford’s City Hall, the museum also provides a unique insight into the history and heritage of policing in the city.

Make your own comic book at Bradford's National Science and Media Museum.

The activities, aimed at children five and above, is inspired by its current exhibition on Robert Paul, The Forgotten Showman.

The Comic Book Creators workshops are taking place between December 27 – January 5.

Sessions are held on the landing from 10am - 4pm.

Families can also get back to nature by following new signs to the district's less well-known and hidden becks thanks to The Friends of Bradford's Becks.
