A PATIENT was taken to hospital this morning after a "medical incident" near a busy main road.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service was called to Harrogate Road, near Eccleshill Pool and The Oddfellows Arms at around 10:21am.
It is believed an elderly man was on the floor at the side of the road, according to witness Fiona Tomlinson.
A police car was also at the scene.
A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance and have taken one patient to Bradford Royal Infirmary."
Ms Tomlinson said: "I was coming on Orchard Grove to turn right onto Harrogate Road.
"There was a elderly man on the pavement.
"I saw staff from the swimming baths were performing CPR on him.
"I didn't see any cars damaged so I'm unsure if a crash had occurred.
"I'm not 100 per cent sure, but the man didn't look too good and was not moving.
"There were a lot of cars parked up, but also a large crowd around the elderly man on the pavement."
While emergency services dealt with the situation traffic was running slow through Greengates Crossroads.
