A POLISH-RUN cafe in the city centre has created a tribute to the current World Speedway Champion - with a helping hand from a Bradford fan of the sport.
Bosses of Cafe Bees, a coffee/bistro establishment at 6 Millergate, Bradford, are proudly displaying items to recognise the achievements of their countryman Bartosz Smarzlik, only the third speedway world champ from Poland.
Bart and Jacek (pictured), of Cafe Bees, were delighted to receive two framed items donated by Bradford man John Murphy.
They include a framed copy of the Speedway Star which announced Smarzlik’s triumph.
Mr Murphy said: “What does one do with an ‘iconic’ Speedway Star rather than just add it to the pile already in storage?"
“Remove the cover - put it in a frame and ask a City Centre business if they would like to display it!”
Mr Murphy said he was delighted the items had been gratefully accepted by the cafe.
