A HUNDRED pigs were freed from a transporter after a crash in North Yorkshire.
Helmsley crews attended a large goods vehicle transporting the pigs that had flipped over onto its side.
The incident happened at around 1pm on Friday, December 13, at Rievaulx, near Helmsley.
The driver was not trapped and was taken to hospital by road ambulance with suspected broken ribs.
The crews cut sections of the vehicle to allow the pigs out and all 100 pigs were successfully released.
