A MAN found dead over the weekend has been named.
Police were called Old Road, Thornton, yesterday to reports of someone finding a "deceased person".
The man has been named as 43-year-old Nicholas Watts, of Shelley Grove in Fairweather Green.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said initial indications were that the death was not suspicious.
A statement said: "At 2.27pm yesterday (Sunday), police received a report of a body which had been found in Old Road, Thornton.
"Emergency services attended but sadly the male was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been prepared for the Coroner.”
A picture seen by the T&A showed at least three police cars on the road, with an ambulance in attendance as well.
The T&A understands Mr Watts' body was found in a field.
