AN OLD pub in Gomersal could be converted into houses after fresh plans for the building were lodged.
The Old Saw Inn at Spen Lane, close to the Spen Victoria Cricket and Bowling Club, would be partly demolished as part of the scheme.
It would see the single-storey additions removed to leave a main block of a building behind.
The remaining building would be converted into a pair of semi-detached three-bedroom homes with gardens and parking.
In addition, the plans by Northern Club Developments, would also see a detached three bedroom house being built on what is currently the car park.
The scheme has been submitted to Kirklees Council for consideration by the Mirfield-based developer, and a decision is expected to be made in January.
According to the local CAMRA branch for the area, the Inn was a "small village pub of character" which closed and was put up for sale earlier this year.
It was marketed for £220,000 as a traditional bar and restaurant comprising approximately 209 sq m.
