SCHOOL children have been awarded their own signed rainbow T-shirt after they won the Bradford inter-schools cycling competition.
The UCI World Championship rainbow was given to pupils at Burley Oaks Primary School, in Ilkley, following their success against 11 other schools.
The presentation was made by Ian Cullen from Bikefutures who has coached cycling to many children from around the district, from learn to ride schemes to racing events and who organised the event.
The teams of eight boys and eight girls from each school, including Westminster C of E, Merlin Top, Fagley, Bowling Park, Parkwood, Lower Fields and Copthorne, took part in Individual Time Trials, Team Time Trials, Individual Pursuit and an Endurance Race - with three schools racing each day.
Burley Oaks Primary School were crowned the winners and received a T-shirt signed by former Otley world champion Lizzie Deignan, Dame Sarah Storey, and several other professional cyclists.
