Double-glazing worker Craig Drake is running the New York Marathon to raise money for a charity which helps injured rugby league players.
Craig, 37, of Dunmore Avenue, Queensbury, flies to the US on Wednesday to take part in the 26-mile race on Sunday, November 4. Mr Drake is collecting funds for the charity XIII Heroes. Joining him will be Matt King, of Bedford, who was left paralysed after being injured in a match in 2004, aged 17.
Mr Drake said: "To run in the New York Marathon will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
