BINGLEY Arts Centre will be resounding to the vibes from concert bands Hot Aire! and Fresh Aire: as they celebrates their 30th anniversary.

Hot Aire! is the third generation of a band that began life in 1956 as a brass band and then became a concert band under its current name in 1989.

It is led by conductor Stephen Bradnum who is also a published composer with experience in playing, leading and teaching music at all levels.

Together with training band Fresh Aire! the bands have a membership of 90 enthusiastic musicians ranging in age from eight years to over 70.

Many of the musicians have been with the group since it started.

Member Kathryn Harrison said: "Both bands play a wonderful selection of music and their repertoire features music from film, West End shows, chart hits and special arrangements.

"Our code of ethics is to help anyone who is interested in learning to play music. Musicians joining Fresh Aire! are supported and mentored by experienced players from the main band.

"Members come from the Aire Valley, Bradford, Skipton and beyond. There are no formal auditions to join either band.

"We play concerts throughout the year. The main band also performs at weddings and private functions."

Sixty musicians from Hot Aire! are due to travel to Bavaria, in Germany, this summer and during the first week of August will perform numerous concerts in beautiful locations.

The band has also just released its video of Beauty and the Beast - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9bcJ8qPIH8

From June 1 both bands have a new rehearsing studio and will rehearse each Saturday at Dixons Cottingley, Academy, in Cottingley New Road, Bingley.

Rehearsals take place during the morning.

The 30th anniversary concert at Bingley Arts Centre starts at 7.30pm.
