A MILL and former World War One munitions factory could be converted into a day spa if new plans are approved.
Baildon Green Mills in Baildon was built in the 19th Century, and in its history was used for the development of weapons and, more recently, as a collection of commercial units.
A planning application that has just been submitted to Bradford Council would see one floor of the mill converted from warehouse space into the “Moorland Retreat Day Spa.”
It says the new business would offer a steam room, sauna, manicure stations, pedicure stations, changing rooms and treatment rooms.
The mill lies in the Baildon Green Conservation Area, and the application, by Emma Todd, says: “The Spa and it’s treatment rooms will provide jobs and services for the benefit of the Baildon green community and will also benefit the larger Baildon community, so safeguarding the use and relevance of the mill itself in the future.
"We feel that the nature of the Spa is such that it is able to not only exist alongside the Baildon Green conservation area but to enhance it."
A decision on the application is expected next month.
