As hundreds of Bradfordians headed for the coast over the Easter period, this week we are taking a trip down memory lane to the once-popular seaside resort Morecambe - known fondly as “Bradford on sea”.
For more than a century, Morecambe was the place to be when the city’s schools, mills, factories and offices closed for their annual summer break.
Once packed with holidaymakers, the Lancashire seaside resort continues to hold a place in many hearts, as the land of outdoor swimming, home of the Hest Bank Holiday Home or just the perfect retirement place.
