AN application to keep controversial cameras on an iconic Haworth pub has been withdrawn - the day before it was due to be discussed by Councillors.
Bradford Council's Keighley and Shipley Area Planning Panel was due to decide tomorrow whether a retrospective application for two pole mounted automatic number plate recognition cameras at the site of the Black Bull should be approved.
The cameras had been installed to prevent non-customers using the car park in the pub - in the centre of Haworth.
Planning row over cameras on Haworth pub with Bronte links
It is famous as being one of the favourite drinking holes of Branwell Bronte, the wayward brother of the Bronte sisters.
Planning officers had recommended members approve the plans, but on the condition that the height of the poles be reduced.
But last week the pub's owners Enterprise Inns told the Telegraph & Argus that they were planning to remove the cameras "as soon as possible."
And today the retrospective planning application was withdrawn.
