TWO cars were involved in a crash close to Bradford city centre in the early hours of yesterday morning and police have issued an update on the situation.
A man and a woman in their twenties suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital, where both remain today.
Neither’s injuries are believed to be life threatening.
The cars involved in the crash were a black Vauxhall Vectra and a blue Volkswagen Jetta.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or the events prior to it is asked to contact the Western Area Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting log 216 of 17 February.
Pictures from the scene, at the bottom end of Manchester Road, show one car smashed through the pedestrian crossing area and the other on the pavement outside Jacob's Well.
It happened at around 2.25am.
A West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue spokesperson said one person was released from the wreckage by firefighters.
Two fire engines from Bradford fire station were in attendance.
A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesperson said six people were taken to hospital - three to the Bradford Royal Infirmary and three to the Leeds General Infirmary.
It is thought one female who went to the Leeds General Infirmary was seriously injured, a police spokesperson said yesterday,
The scene was cleared ahead of the planned demolition of Jacob's Well.
