A NATIONAL award ceremony due to take place in Bradford tomorrow has been postponed due to the forecast for snow in the district.
The British Muslim Awards will now be held in February at the same venue - The Bradford Hotel, Hall Ings, Bradford.
A spokesman for Oceanic Consulting, which organises the event, said: "The event has been postponed to February 19 due to heavy snow in the Bradford area this week."
The awards are designed to honor inspiring and remarkable British Muslims and a number of Bradford people and organisations have been shortlisted.
There are 300 on the shortlist across more than 30 categories.

Among the local finalists are general secretary of the Bradford Council for Mosques and businessman Zulfi Karim, CEO of the Muslim Women’s Council Bana Gora, West Yorkshire Police with Police and Crime Commissioner Mark Burns-Williamson, and filmmaker Suman Hanif.
The British Muslim Awards 2019, sponsored by Trusted Utility Consultants, are organised by Oceanic Consulting, the UK’s leading ethnic consulting and promotions organisation.
This is the seventh year of the awards.
