A NEW initiative called Clean Air Bradford is to be launched on Saturday.
Clean Air Bradford is a new coalition of organisations and individuals who are committed to campaign to improve the air quality in Bradford.
Bradford Council has been ordered by DEFRA to establish an urgent plan to reduce Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) emissions but campaigners say that particulates from vehicles, and industrial pollution for instance, are also detrimental to heath.
The main objective of the launch is to build a larger group of active people who are willing to get involved and help build relationships with people and businesses across the city. Included will be the outputs from the WYCA-sponsored Shipley Reimagined consultation project held in 2018.
The group is being coordinated by James Craig, convenor of Baildon Friends of the Earth group.
The launch event is being held at 1pm at the Kirkgate Centre in Shipley.
