A FORMER Bradford City striker has died at the age of 83.
Tom Brownlee, who was Bradford City’s top scored in the 1964/65 season, when he bagged 14 goals in 18 games for the Bantams as they toiled away in the Fourth Division.
He left City during the following season, returning to Cumbrian non-league club Netherfield.
Born in the Scottish village of Carnwath, Brownlee started his career at Scottish club Broxburn Athletic, before making his senior debut on trial at Alloa Athletic.
He then moved south of the border, signing for Walsall, before moving to York City and then on to Workington.
He then dropped into non-league with Netherfield, scoring 76 goals in a season before signing for Bradford.
His career came to a close following his second spell at Netherfield. Mr Brownlee died in December, aged 83.
