TRIBUTES have come in their hundreds for an 18-year-old who died following a crash involving a motorcycle at the weekend.
Police are appealing for witnesses of the collision which occurred on Saturday night at about 8:36pm on Otley Road, Baildon, near the New Inn Pub.
A police spokesperson said a Yamaha CBR 125 motorbike was in collision with a 60-year-old male pedestrian when he was in the road.
The rider, named locally as 18-year-old Henry Brabiner, fell from the bike and suffered life-threatening injuries.
He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) where he died on Sunday.
A police spokesperson said: "The pedestrian was also seriously injured, but has now been discharged from hospital after treatment."
Mr Brabiner's mother, Kealy Brabiner, spoke in tribute of her son who attended Sandal Primary School before moving onto Titus Salt School.
She said: "He was a character who liked to make people laugh.
"He was a popular lad with lots of friends and would do anything for anyone and the best big brother to Austin, Eddie and Albie."
Mrs Brabiner said he'd regularly take Austin, 5, and twins Eddie and Albie, 3, to the park or for meals.
The teenager also has two sisters, Molly Brabiner, 20, and Ella Brabiner, 17.
Mrs Brabiner said: "I’m absolutely devastated and can’t take it in. He had his moments but he was such a loving, caring boy.
"He may have towered over me and be 18 but he will always be my boy. I feel like someone’s sitting on my chest it hurts so much.
"His brothers and sisters can’t believe he’s gone and Austin who adored him has said can we ask Father Christmas for our brother Henry."
Mrs Brabiner said his father, Andrew, was heartbroken.
Mr Brabiner said: "He had a massive heart and was loved by anybody - we're in a mess right now, a big mess right not.
"He was just a very caring lad, he used to like our fishing trips to the Isle of Skye and he loved spending time with kids, with Kealy's children."
The teenager enjoyed spending time out and about - be it camping, shooting or fishing - and his dad said they had some really happy times in Scotland.
He added: "He's a really special lad - some people leave and it's sad, but some people leave and it just can't be filled.
"He was a thoughtful lad, a teenager who had his ups and downs like they all do, but he was loved to death by everybody, especially his friends' parents."
Mr Brabiner said he plans to gather together a big bunch of his son's mates and have some beers and tell stories about his life.
He added the response and outpouring of love from people had been a shining light.
He said: "I'm hearing nice, laughable things I hadn't known he'd actually done - I suppose I'll find out a lot more.
"I'm pleased to learn he experienced a bit of this and a bit of that."
A number of tributes and flowers have been laid at the scene of the crash.
One note said: "R.I.P Henry, you will be missed by many. So sad to see you go so soon. Fly high angel."
Hundreds of tributes were also posted across social media platform Facebook in memory of Mr Brabiner, who played rugby as a youngster and enjoyed spending time with his friends.
One friend posted: "Rest in peace Henry Brabiner, many memories when we were young of making mud pies and collecting worms, oh the days wish I could bring them back.
"Taken far too soon and you are in my thoughts, also thinking of friends and family at this devastating time, keep laughing up there."
One poster, who described herself as one of Mr Brabiner's best and oldest friends, said: "We had the best of times and I will be forever grateful for that.
"Honestly don’t know what I’m going to do without you my partner in crime. See you on the other side tizzle."
Otley Road was blocked for several hours while emergency services attended the incident.
Sergeant Carl Quinn of the Major Collision and Enquiry Team, said: "We are carrying out a number of enquiries into this fatal collision and I am keen to speak with anyone who saw what took place.
"I would also like to speak with anyone or who may have seen either the pedestrian or motorbike on Otley Road just prior to the incident.
"Anyone who saw what happened or who has dashcam footage is asked to contact the Major Collision and Enquiry Team on 101."
